Forest school and PE

 Our forest school session will be every Monday afternoon and PE will be taught every Tuesday and Wednesday. 

Summer 1 

This half term we will be learning …….

Maths – We will be developing our confidence and fluency when adding and subtracting two digit numbers using our understanding of partitioning tens and ones. We will start to recognise coins and combine amounts to make a particular value.  We will be able to find ½, 1/3, ¼ and ¾ of shapes and numbers.

English - We will continue using the unlocking letters and sounds to learn about spelling rules and how to spell common exception words. We will be writing an information text about animals.

Science - We will be learning about alive, dead and never alive We will also find out about habitats and microhabitats and learning about the food chain.

Geography – We will be using maps to explore our classroom, playground and local area. As part of Geography and Science this half term we will be going on a trip to Allestree Park.

Art – We will be using clay to create our own insects. We will learn the skills of shaping, joining and making marks to be able to do this.

Growing up Great - We will be learning all about being safe.

Music – We will be practising our singing and glockenspiel playing to perform to others.

PE - We will be learning a variety of striking and fielding skills.

Computing - We will be creating pictures using 2paint a picture.

RE - We will be finding out how we care for others and the world.

Forest school - We will be weeding, watering and harvesting, making senses egg boxes and learning about mindfulness when outside.
