We are extremely pleased with our experience so far with Portway Infant school.

The transition from nursery to school was very smooth even with Covid restrictions. The class teacher liaised with the nursery staff very soon after admissions were sent out to parents. The school sent out a welcome pack very early on which explained which teacher our daughter would have and arranged visit times.

Our daughter settled into her reception class from day one and looks forward to going to school every day. 

As working parents we find the class dojo really helpful for communication with the teacher. 

Due to Covid we didn’t actually get to visit schools before making a decision. Portway Infant school made an excellent video which was a tour of the school for parents to view. Which was very detailed. This was truly invaluable. It really helped us to get a feel for the school. When we actually got to see the school in person we were blown away by the outdoor space the children have and the forest school.
