Being creative is a great way for children and adults to be mindful and spend dedicated time to express themselves creatively. They can take ownership of their painting, den, song etc which increases their self esteem. Once children are relaxed and engaged in a creative activity they may feel happy to talk about their feelings.
1. Build a Den: In your house or garden, find somewhere calm and quiet to build your den and fill it with your favourite teddies, blankets and books. Have a snuggle and share a story in the den.
2. Take a BIG Belly Breath: Place a cuddly toy on your belly. Breathe in and out deeply to move the teddy up and down. This is a great way to help calm yourself and enjoy the peace and quiet.
3. Paint a pebble or your favourite picture: Paint a positive message, draw your favourite thing or person and send it to a friend or relative to let them know that you are thinking of them.
