Meeting held 30.1.18
The meeting was attended by Mrs Hilton who wanted to investigate what the children thought about PE.
The children said that games and learning throwing and catching skills were their favourite but they also enjoyed learning how to do different kinds of rolls in gym. The children said that they mostly enjoyed their pe lessons.
Different out of school clubs were discussed - children said they attended swimming, ballet, gymnastics and rugby clubs out of school.
Meeting held 13.2.18
The children discussed ways that they were active during school day.
The children reviewed Healthy Heart Week and said they enjoyed wearing their tracksuits.
The children were sent back to their class to discuss top tips to make a good friend.
Meeting held 13.3.18
The children thought of top tips to make a good friend-
1. Be kind to everyone
2. Let people join in your games
3. Even if you're feeling grumpy, still be kind to your friends
4. Look after anyone feeling sad or poorly
5. Let other people join in your friendship group
Meeting held 17.4.18
We were joined by a member of Friends of Portway who told us about a new fundraising scheme called 'Copperheads'. Each class was given a bucket to decorate in the style of a member of the Copperheads family which will then be placed outside classroom doors to collect 1ps and 2ps donated by parents.
Meeting held 23.5.18
The children were asked about how they felt about moving to their new classes in September. They had a number of questions that will be asked of their new teachers:
Will we do lots of phonics?
Will we ever get to choose?
How much maths will we do?
Will you teach us how to do division?
What kind of work will we do?
Will there be a birthday display?
Can we choose a couple of friends to be with in our new class?
Do we choose who we sit next to?
Can we do craft on the first day?
Have you got a proud cloud?
Meeting held 12.6.18
The children were informed about next week's activity afternoon. They were asked to pass the message to their class mates that sun hats and water bottles would be needed for the afternoon of 21st June.
The children were also told that the rest/first aid stop will now be contained in the middle of the two stretches of activities to keep everyone safer.
Meeting held 10.10.18
The children discussed what they would like to find in their classroom book corners and came up with this list.....
- Beanbags or cushions to make it comfy
- Tents to go inside
- Range of books (information, story, magazines)
- Shelves or containers for books
- Book marks
- teddy bears
Minutes of meeting held 23.10.18
The children discussed upcoming Friendship week and thought of a Friendship Charter to be shared around the classes.
1.We will always help each other and share our things
2. We are kind to each other and say kind words
3. We respect all the people in our school.
4. We look out for lonely people to make them feel better.
5. We will tell a grown up if we know that anyone has been unkind
Minutes of the meeting 4.12.18
The children discussed raising money for charity during our Christmas concerts. It was agreed to raise money for a diabetes charity this year as there are children in school with this condition. The children also commented on other charities that they would like to support:

The new plans for the playground markings were shared and discussed. Comments were -
Children liked the footsteps around the edge

The children began a tour of each class's book corner. The aim is to find the best book corner which will win that class some new books for their classroom!
Meeting held 30.4.19
We welcomed our new members from EYFS classes!
The children were concerned that some book corners and cloak rooms around school are untidy. It was suggested that on returning to their classes the children would make sure that their class had book corner and cloakroom monitors who can help to keep these areas tidy. we also discussed that keeping our school tidy is everyone's responsibility!
We discussed our new playground surface - we like its appearance and are excited about having the markings put on.
