Mrs Stockwell - Wonderful Woodpeckers
Welcome to our very own Class Page!
Our topics for the Spring Term Term are Starry Night and Winter Wonderland.
Starry Night
This project explores the differences in the world at night compared to during the day. It teaches children about the importance of a good night’s sleep, and helps them to discover what is happening in the world while they are sleeping, including finding out about nocturnal animals.
Winter Wonderland
This project teaches children about the changes that happen during winter, including the types of weather associated with winter. It also explores places that have snow all year round and the types of animals that live there.
Throughout this topic we are continuing to learn our 3 school rules. These are:
Be ready
Be respectful
Be safe
We are so proud of how well your children have already settled in to our school routines and how they are very enthusiastic and determined to follow our rules.
Science - we have been learning about nocturnal animals
Computing - we have been continuing to teach your children to keep themselves safe when using the internet. We have also been using our school Purple Mash site where they practice clicking, dragging and choosing/selecting an activity.
Art - We will be looking at and reproducing Van Gogh's Starry Night painting.
History - We have been learning about what we do at night time, thinking about what we did yesterday and what we will do tomorrow. We have also sequenced our bedtime routines.
PSHE - We are continuing to explore and draw our emotions and feelings.
RE - We will be looking at 'Special Places' and all things special to us
