Class Dojo
Class Dojo is a brilliant way to stay in touch. The class story can be seen by all parents in the class - I will use this to keep you informed of what is happening in class. Portfolios can only be seen by individual parents - what you or I post in your child's portfolio can only be seen by you and the staff attached to the class (no other parents can see your child's portfolio). You can use this to send me pictures of work for homework or work being completed if your child is having to isolate. I can also send you pictures of work being completed in class so you can see their achievements and what you could do to support at home. Messages can only be seen by the person who sent it and the person they sent it to - no other parents or members of staff can see what is written.
General Reminders
PE
PE is on a Tuesday and Thursday, so please ensure you wear your PE kit on these days. If the weather is too bad on a Tuesday, we may have to miss PE as there is no option for indoor PE due to Yoga Bugs with year 1.
Reading
Please aim to read with your child at home 4 times a week. This could be reading books from school, library books, books you have at home, magazines or online books. Please make a note in your yellow reading record each time to read for 5 minutes or more. Books can be changed on a Tuesday or Friday. We count up the number of times you have read at home each Friday. 25 reads will earn you a purple royal reader badge, 50 reads will earn you a black royal reader badge, 100 reads will earn you a blue royal reader badge and 150 reads will earn you a new book!
Homework
Along with reading, we would greatly appreciate your support with helping your child to learn their times tables. All children have a login for times table rock stars to support this.
We set spellings for your child to learn at home, ready for a test in school every week on a Friday.
Homework based around the topic we are learning in school. It is given on a Friday with 2 weeks to be completed. We then collect in your homework books and keep them in school for a week to have a good look at what you did and to stick in the next homework. Any work you complete for the homework can either be written in the book or you can send a photo on class dojo.
