Here is a picture  for you to talk about with your child.  We ask the children to write independently to show us how their skills are developing.  They have such a lot to remember: spellings, handwriting, punctuation, sentence structure! 

Try to ask questions to help them to write sentences about the picture.  Some ideas would be: 

What can you see?  If you were there, what could you feel or hear?  Would you like to go there? Do this?
