Beautiful Butterflies Miss Moore

Welcome to our class page

Autumn 1:

Our topic this term is called Paws, Claws and Whiskers. We have had lots of different exciting visits from various different animals that have paws, claws or whiskers! We had a visit from chickens, a dog and a pony.

Science-The children have been learning about carnivores, herbivores and omnivores and they have sorted animals into which group they belong to based on what they eat.

Art- We have been learning how to effectively use pastels to create our own version of a picture of a chosen animal. The children have also been learning how to use different materials to create some animal markings and then developed this further by putting their skills into creating a collage of a big cat!

General Reminders:

Class Dojo-

Class Dojo is an efficient way to keep in touch. Our class dojo will be regularly updated where I will post information relating to what we are doing/ have done in class and any additional information you may need to know. If your child completes any work at home that you would like to upload for me to see, you can put it in their portfolio and only myself and other staff attached to our class can see this work (other parents cannot see). If you have any messages or questions, please use class dojo.

P.E-

Our P.E day is on a Friday. Please ensure your child comes to school in their P.E kit on this day.

Reading-

Reading is so important for your child so where possible, please aim to read with your child at home 4 times a week. This can be your child's reading book from school, a library book, books from home or an online book. When you have read with your child, please ensure you date and sign their reading record as this will let me know that they have been read with. Books are changed every Tuesday and Friday. If your child reads 25times, they will gain their blue outstanding owl badge, 50 reads will earn them an orange outstanding owl badge and 100 reads will earn them a yellow outstanding owl badge. 150 reads will earn them a new book!
